Here you will find practical tips and further information for your stay.
Geisenheim is a beautiful city in the Rheingau region that offers many sights to see. Directly in front of the town hall on Lindenplatz stands the guided dance linden tree, a symbol of the city. This winter linden tree is believed to be 700 years old and was first mentioned as a court linden tree in 1585. Another highlight is the Rheingau Cathedral, a neo-Gothic double-tower facade from the 19th century, with a nave and choir from the beginning of the 16th century, significant tombs, and rich interior furnishings. Also worth seeing is the famous Stumm organ. Another interesting building is the Old Workshop of the printing press manufacturer Maschinenfabrik Johannisberg
Geisenheim (MJG), an important industrial monument of
Geisenheim's long-standing mechanical engineering tradition. There is also the Kronberger Hof, a former noble court from the second half of the 16th century, the Eberbacher Hof, a former farmstead of Eberbach Abbey and childhood home of architect Philipp Hoffmann, as well as the Bachelin House, a former residence of the Bachelin family built around 1695. The oldest known hand-painted wallpaper in a bourgeois house from 1822/23 can be found in the main living room.
In the west and east of the city stand old castles and palaces: The Schönborn Castle (formerly Stockheimer Hof) built in 1550 stands at the train station amidst beautiful park grounds and Schloss Vollrads is located directly on the banks of the Rhine.
